The track record of Barwon stud sires and current confidence in the prime lamb industry drew clients from the hills to the Riverina plains to the 2011 R Yates & Co spring ram sale.
The sale was solid from start to finish with eighty eight percent clearance on the hammer and full clearance by the end of sale day.
It is interesting to note that buyers are still buying predominantly on visual appraisal - Dorsets that look like Dorsets. Our analysis of the sale data showed the price paid was not related to Lambplan Carcass Plus Index and buyers purchased rams with a range of indexes.

The sale was conducted by Landmark and Elders Ltd, both of Wagga Wagga.
Selling Program
Barwon Stud holds two on property sales each year, in Spring and early Autumn, to fit with ram joining seasons. Rams are also sold by private treaty.
Clients are invited to contact Barwon and make an appointment to inspect rams.
